ANDREW CSYANI'S STORY For employers in the service industry, finding motivated staff is a constant challenge. But the management team at the Wok Box in Surrey may have discovered a key to overcoming that challenge: by focusing on Andrew Csyani’s contagious enthusiasm, admirable work ethic and great potential – rather than his developmental disability – they’ve found a committed, long-term employee.

It has been almost two years since Milieu's employment services began to take shape. But today, with 19 individuals employed in the community, it has truly taken flight. One such worker who has found his "employment home" in the community is Neil McCabe (pictured). He is among the most passionate of individuals working regularly. Neil says there is much to love about his job at Ming and Sing: "I like the independence, the money and the bosses are very kind." In reflecting about how it all started, Neil remembers his first day difficulties: "It was raining, so it was challenging...but the more I did it the easier it got!" He also believes this is the best fit for him right at this moment. "This is what I'm happy doing now." Neil will undoubtedly be happy doing this for the near future until he finds his next challenge. His advice: "Don’t be anxious, relax! Take it one day at a time – you'll have the support to find another job!"
