1. What programs and services are available? Youth Workers can help youth in the following areas: life skills development, housing search and set up, access to suitable school programs, access to health services, advocacy, securing ID, budgeting, resume preparation and employment searches, and parenting skills for teens.
2. How do I access services? Some services require an MCFD referral but youth are encouraged to come to SVYC if they are interested in any service or program. Youth Workers can assist youth in accessing community services or, if necessary, initiate a referral to a program at SVYC or any of the other Youth Centre’s in the city.
3. When are services available? The SVYC provides a variety of programs and services from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
4. Where are services offered? SVYC is located at 4920 Fraser Street, Vancouver. Youth Workers are available to connect with youth at SVYC or on an outreach basis in the community.
