Clinical Support

Connexus Clinical Support Services aim to stabilize and support children and youth.
The children and youth referred to our specialized programs have often experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, and extreme neglect. Many struggle with severe behavioral problems, mental health issues, attachment disorders and/or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and are often the most difficult clients to manage successfully in any residential setting.

Although Knight and Park are sometimes referred to as 'treatment homes', we are not attempting to 'cure' these children and youth.  We aim to:

1) Stabalize - Help the client stabilize to a point whereby he or she can be better maintained in a long-term foster or biological family setting;

2) Support - Get the appropriate supports in place for the client that will aid with the latter (day/school program, community and mental health involvement, recreation).

Through specialized case management, including consultation with our Psychologist, residents have access to the full range of support they need to begin addressing their life challenges.
